As per the instructions of the College Principal Dr.K.Vijaya Babu and in accordance with the academic calendar on 20th August 2025, World Mosquito Day was observed at Government Degree College, Kamavarapukota under the guidance of In charge Principal Sri M. Malleswara Rao. The programme was jointly organized by the NSS Unit of GDC Kamavarapukota and the Primary Health Centre, Tadikalapudi.

The Medical Officer from Tadikalapudi and Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, NSS Programme Officer, graced the occasion and addressed the students and staff. They emphasized the importance of mosquito control in preventing life-threatening diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. The speakers also explained preventive measures like eliminating stagnant water, maintaining cleanliness, and practicing personal hygiene.

As part of the programme, students and NSS volunteers actively participated in forming a human chain to symbolize unity in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases. A pledge was also administered, affirming the commitment of students and staff to spread awareness and adopt preventive practices in their communities.

The event concluded with a call to collective action, inspiring everyone to contribute towards building a healthy and mosquito-free society.
