The Orientation Programme on Long-Term Internship was organized at Government Degree College, Kamavarapukota to create awareness among students regarding internship opportunities and to guide them through the procedures involved. The programme was conducted under the leadership of the In-charge Principal, Sri M. Malleswara Rao, who highlighted the importance of long-term internships in enhancing students’ practical knowledge and employability skills.

The IQAC Coordinator, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, addressed the students and emphasized the role of internships in improving academic quality, fulfilling IQAC parameters, and preparing students for professional environments. He encouraged the students to actively participate in internships to gain real-time field exposure.

The programme was coordinated by the internship coordinator Smt. M. Usha Rani, who explained in detail the objectives, duration, guidelines, and advantages of long-term internships. She provided clarity on the internship registration process, required documentation, attendance rules, evaluation methods, and report preparation.

Students were also given information about various sectors offering internships, such as industries, government offices, NGOs, private institutions, service sectors, and educational organizations.

The session covered:

Eligibility and selection process

Professional ethics, discipline, and workplace responsibilities

Skill development through hands-on experience

Preparation of internship reports and portfolios

Academic credits and certification

The students interacted enthusiastically, clarified their doubts, and expressed interest in exploring internship opportunities.

Outcomes

Students understood the significance and structure of long-term internships.

Awareness increased regarding registration, documentation, and assessment.

Participants learned about workplace professionalism and responsibilities.

Students gained awareness about multiple internship sectors.

The programme motivated learners to participate confidently in real-time internships.
