As per the instructions of our Principal Dr.K. Vijaya Babu and in accordance with the Academic Calendar, The Department of English organized Sarojini Naidu Jayanthi on 13th February 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu, popularly known as the “Nightingale of India.” The programme aimed to create awareness among students about her remarkable contributions to Indian literature and the freedom movement.

The event began with a floral tribute to the portrait of Sarojini Naidu. Sri. M. Malleswara Rao, Chairperson of the programme, presided over the function and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he highlighted Sarojini Naidu’s role as a distinguished poet, freedom fighter, and the first woman Governor of an Indian state. He motivated students to imbibe her qualities of leadership, courage, and patriotism.

The celebration was both informative and inspiring, encouraging students to appreciate the rich literary heritage of India and to draw inspiration from the life and ideals of Sarojini Naidu.
