Independence Day Celebrations 2026

The 80th Independence Day celebrations were conducted grandly at Government Degree College, Kamavarapukota. The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. K. Vijaya Babu.

On this occasion, the Principal unfurled the National Flag. Addressing the gathering, he said that the freedom achieved through the sacrifices of the freedom fighters should be valued and that the younger generation should understand the importance of Independence and contribute to the development of the nation.

Special Guest Sri G. Keshava Rao Garu, CPDC Secretary, in his address, emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication and value-based education among students. 

As part of the celebrations, students participated enthusiastically in various programmes. Essay writing, elocution and quiz competitions were conducted, and prizes were distributed to the winners.

Students S. Pavithra (III B.Com), M. Durga (III B.A.), D. Iswarya (III B.Com) and K. Baby (III BZC) participated in the students’ speeches and expressed their views on patriotism, national development and the role of youth in nation-building.

The prizes were distributed to the winners of the Essay Writing, Elocution and Quiz competitions conducted as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Dr. M. Madhu, Vice-Principal, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guest, Guest of Honour, Principal, staff members, students and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

A colourful cultural programme featuring a patriotic dance performance was presented by the students. The programme created a sense of national pride and enthusiasm among the gathering.

The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem, reinforcing the spirit of unity, patriotism, and commitment towards the nation.
