World Poetry Day is celebrated annually on March 21st, as declared by UNESCO in 1999.

Aims

1. Celebrate Poetry: Celebrate the rich and diverse world of poetry, promoting its reading, writing, and appreciation.

2. Promote Linguistic Diversity: Promote linguistic diversity and the preservation of endangered languages through poetry.

Objectives

1. Increase Visibility: Increase the visibility of poetry and poets worldwide, highlighting their contributions to culture and society.

2. Encourage Participation: Encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in poetry readings, workshops, and other events.

3. Support Literary Diversity: Support literary diversity by promoting poetry in all its forms, including traditional, contemporary, and experimental.

Brief Report

As per the suggestion of the Principal, Dr.K.Vijaya Babu, and as documented in the academic calendar, the Department of Telugu celebrates World Poetry Day in our college under the chairmanship of our In-charge Principal M. Malleswara Rao, I.Q.A.C. Coordinator, lecturer in Telugu Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, and all the staff and students participated in this celebrations

Outcomes

1. Increased Appreciation: Increased appreciation and understanding of poetry and its role in promoting cultural diversity and creativity.

2. Improved Literacy: Improved literacy rates and a greater love of reading and writing among people of all ages.

3. Cultural Exchange: Cultural exchange and collaboration between poets, writers, and artists from different countries and backgrounds.

4. Preservation of Linguistic Heritage: Preservation of linguistic heritage and endangered languages through poetry and other forms of literary expression.
