Aim & Objective:
The aim of National Consumer’s Rights Day is to promote consumer awareness and protection, and to encourage businesses to adopt fair and honest practices.
Objective:
1. Raise awareness: To educate
consumers about their rights and responsibilities, and to inform them about the
laws and regulations that protect them.
2. Promote fair business practices: To
encourage businesses to adopt fair and honest practices, and to provide
consumers with accurate and reliable information about products and services.
3. Empower
consumers: To empower consumers to make informed decisions, and to provide
them with the knowledge and skills to assert their rights and seek redress when
necessary.
Outcomes
- Students and public became aware about the consumer rights, importance of using BIS certified products, consumer helpline number, new consumer law and consumer portal.
- The student realized the importance of taking their subject and knowledge to society.
- Promoting awareness to community for how to behave in market places during buying of goods and services and address the consumer rights.
Brief Note
Department of Economics & Commerce under the chairmanship of In-charge Principal Sri M.Malleswara Rao of Government Degree College Kamavarapukota observed “National Consumer Rights Day 2024 on 20 December 2024”. In this event programme coordinator Sri M.Vijaya Krishna addressed the students and community gave a brief note on Overview of Consumers Rights and Provide information of how to behave marketing places during buying of goods and services in our society. In this program, all the staff and students participated.
